Director, Joanna Pullan, was Project Runner in the redevelopment of this Grade II* Listed Estate.
Rolle House is in the early Georgian style and set in a rural location in Wiltshire. The building was originally constructed in 1717 as a purpose-built school for the children of the local area; it remained in use as a school until 1933 and preserves much of its original exterior and some internal features. The building was sold in 1934 and subsequently adapted for residential use, including internal alterations and an extension.
When the house was purchased by the current owner in 2014 it was in a poor state of repair with plaster detached from the substrate, insect attack and signs of water ingress. The interiors were dated and the vision was to redevelop to create a contemporary home.
The project consisted of various phases including; conversion of barns to residential units, new build garage, new build orangery and conversion of existing garage to living accommodation. This was all in addition to sympathetic restoration and conservation of the existing listed main house.
